These Colors Run pays tribute to Kentucky Derby winners. The saddle blanket incorporates the silks of some of the most famous farms, while a three-dimensional blanket of roses covers the horse’s neck. Artist Mary Wathen has been involved in many public art projects, including LexArts’ Horse Mania 2000, the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra’s Horsetails and the 2010 Exhibit for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Her work appears in a growing number of private collections in the US and Europe.
