The Siren of the Bluegrass beckons
all to explore the beautiful countryside of the Bluegrass region. Her coat
of iridescent turquoise color is accented by waves of jewels, textures and
jewel-tone hues from head to tail. Artists Anne Bates Allen and Lucie Slone-Meyers
have created a sea-horse creature guaranteed to charm. Allen currently teaches
art at Sayre Middle School, after teaching for more than a dozen years in
Fayette County Public Schools. Slone-Meyers, a restaurateur, has participated
in several public art or “outsider” art events, including the ArtMobile Collaboration.
