Raise a Native reflects Kentucky’s native flowers and plants. Artist Lida H. Evans studied Horticulture at the University of Kentucky and has a nursing degree. She began painting landscapes and nature scenes after taking a class in pastels. She applies several layers of paint in an attempt to get the depth and color changes one sees when viewing a subject from different angles.
