It’s Rocking Lexington mimics the classic rocking horse, its steel rockers adorned with forged scroll ends. The horse’s copper repoussé blanket was inspired by the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. The horse’s creator, Lloyd Hughes, is a fourth-generation metal smith who has been perfecting his craft for more than 30 years. His work includes architectural commissions, as well as furniture and sculpture. Hughes is a juried member of Kentucky Crafted, Kentucky Arts Council and Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen.
